Building cloud-native applications is no longer just about writing code, it’s about stitching together infrastructure, security, observability, and application logic into a coherent, reliable system. GitHub Copilot is increasingly able to help across that full lifecycle, especially when paired with Azure’s serverless and cloud-native services.

In this 30-minute session, we’ll explore how GitHub Copilot integrates with Azure to accelerate the development of modern applications built on services like Azure Functions, Container Apps, Azure Kubernetes Service, and managed databases. You’ll see how GitHub Copilot can help generate infrastructure-as-code, scaffold serverless workloads, wire up cloud services, and reason about distributed application architectures.

We’ll look at practical workflows such as:

• Using GitHub Copilot to design and generate Bicep, ARM, or Terraform templates
• Creating and evolving Azure Functions and event-driven services
• Connecting applications to managed identity, storage, messaging, and databases
• Debugging and optimising cloud-native systems using logs, metrics, and traces

We’ll also cover how GitHub Copilot fits into secure, production-grade Azure delivery: how to use it alongside GitHub Actions, environment protection rules, and GitHub Advanced Security to ensure AI-generated cloud resources and application code meet security, compliance, and reliability standards.

By the end of the session, you’ll understand how to use GitHub Copilot as a cloud-native development partner, helping your teams move faster from idea to running, resilient services on Azure.

This session is ideal for developers, platform engineers, and architects building or modernising applications on Azure who want to combine GitHub Copilot with modern cloud and serverless platforms.
