The Yenza Izinto initiative represents progression and self-development for all South Africans. Directly translated from isiZulu, Yenza Izinto means ‘do things’ or ‘get things done’– a term of empowerment and action. Which is why the Yenza Izinto initiative provides an opportunity for all South Africans to empower themselves through digital skills that can help them connect, learn, engage with their community, and create promising futures. The Yenza Izinto initiative focuses on providing free Microsoft digital literacy training to create digitally empowered South African citizens who can succeed in the digital world.

Shaun is a seasoned sales and business leader with over 22 years of experience at several multinationals including Siemens, Cisco and Microsoft. Before joining Microsoft, he was the Chief Sales Officer and an Exco member of Liquid Telecom SA. He was responsible for the Enterprise, Public Sector, Telco and Channel Market segments, positioning business value with connectivity, collaboration and cloud solutions.

Werner Swanepoel

Co-founder and CEO | Pioneering Solutions Studio Group

Werner Swanepoel is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer at Pioneering Solutions Studio Group. He is a chartered accountant, registered auditor and member of the institute of directors of South Africa. Over the last ten years, he has successfully launched and grown start-ups in EdTech, MedTech and FinTech, that operate between the private and public sectors and support various multinationals and governments.

Stacey Ann Pillay

Head of the Academic Cluster | Foundation for Professional Development

Stacey Ann Pillay has recently been appointed as the Head of the Academic Cluster at Foundation for Professional Development, leading seven academic programmes as well as conferencing and learnerships. Stacey was the previous CEO of Africa Health Placements (AHP) and advanced in her career at the organisation from administrative assistant over ten years. Stacey has supported hundreds of doctors in their transition to serving underserved areas in Africa. In 2015, Stacey was 1 of 25 participants from six African countries selected by the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Development Policy and Practice for the ‘Leading in Public Life’ Programme. Stacey was also selected as a fellow by the Vedica Scholars Programme for the Global Programme for Women’s Leadership in 2019.

In her various roles, Stacey managed relationships with a range of key stakeholders, including existing and potential donors, government and healthcare regulators. Stacey has led diverse teams of people and continues to mobilise her team and others around a social mission.
