Piyush Bharti has over 18 years' experience in the IT sector having held senior roles in technology consulting, professional services, sales and marketing leadership positions. He currently leads Microsoft’s Data & AI go to market and sales strategy for Middle East and Africa. His remit is to drive digital transformation through Data and Artificial Intelligence at customers through a large and diverse partner network. Prior to joining Microsoft, Piyush was involved in a start-up venture, inQuba, a proudly South African company focusing on insights driven dynamic customer experience and engagement consulting and solutions, and grew the business from being a start up to a global business with offices and customers in USA, Australia, UK and South Africa. Piyush holds an MBA from London Business School and Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from National Institute of Technology – Allahabad – India and is based in Johannesburg.

Buck Woody

Principal Data Scientist, Global Azure Data Services Team

Buck Woody works on the Azure Data Services team at Microsoft, and uses data and technology to solve business and science problems. With over 35 years of professional and practical experience in computer technology, he is also a popular speaker at conferences around the world; author of over 700 articles and eight books on databases, machine learning, and R, he also sits on various Data Science Boards at two US Universities, and specializes in advanced data analysis techniques. He is passionate about mentoring and growing the next generation of data professionals.

Bob Ward

Principal Architect, Microsoft Global Azure Data SQL Server Team

Bob Ward is a Principal Architect for the Microsoft Azure Data SQL Server team, which owns the development for all SQL Server versions. Bob has worked for Microsoft for 26+ years on every version of SQL Server shipped from OS/2 1.1 to SQL Server 2019 including Azure SQL. Bob is a well-known speaker on SQL Server, often presenting talks on new releases and internals at events such as PASS Summit, Red Hat Summit, Microsoft Ready, SQLBits, SQLIntersection, Microsoft Inspire, and Microsoft Ignite.
