WordPress is the mother of Content Management Systems (CMS) and still one of the most widely spread technologies for private websites and online shops. Thanks to a large development community and open-source ecosystem, WordPress evolved into a web tool for easy eCommerce and building marketplaces, literally with a single click.
In this webinar, Andreas Walbrodt and Prof. Dr. Sebastian Gajek, co-founders of enclaive GmbH, will present Wordpress-SGX, a fully enclaived variant of WordPress running in enclaive’s confidential containers with the support of Intel SGX on Azure cloud. We argue that running WordPress in a confidential computing environment has many appealing business values, most notably the ability to store and process user data in a GDPR-compliant way.
Wordpress-SGX thus paves the ground for customer-centric product analytics without the need to explicitly ask for user consent. In other words, there are configurations where no cookie banners are needed, likely decreasing the bounce rate of users.

Co-Founder / CEO + CTO Sebastian is CTO of enclaive and professor for IT security at Flensburg University. He was Chief Scientist with NEC, driving the security innovation. Sebastian is an alumni of Tel Aviv University and holds a PhD in Information Security from the Horst Görtz Institute, a leading institute for IT security research in Germany. Sebastian holds 10+ patents and publications in the field of confidential compute and works for more than 10 years on the holy grail of computing on encrypted data.
