Enabling equal access to learning using Windows and Office 365

Windows and Office 365 have a number of built-in accessibility tools. In this demo, you will learn how to enable ‘Live Captions’, a tool that transcribes the words of any audio and displays the text live on-screen; ‘Dictation’, which enables dictations to appear in real-time anywhere you can type; and ‘Voice Access’, which allows you to input commands using your voice. Next, you will learn about ‘Reading Progress’ and ‘Reading Coach’, which are free tools built into Microsoft Teams that are designed to support and track reading fluency in the class. ‘Immersive Reader’ is available in Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Word and OneNote, and it allows you to perform a number of actions on the text displayed on-screen such as formatting, translations or reading aloud. ‘Narrator’ is a Windows built-in screen reader that is designed to simplify navigation and describe images with a natural, human-sounding voice. Find out how you can enable all of these tools in the demo below.
